ABOUT THE DESK BRIEF

What The Desk Brief Is

The Desk Brief is a curated resource for people who want a better workspace without spending their weekend reading forty review sites. We focus on the gear that actually makes a difference at your desk — ergonomic upgrades, cable management, lighting, monitor arms, keyboard trays, and the small fixes that quietly improve how you work every day.

Most desk-product coverage online is either a wall of sponsored listicles or a two-sentence verdict with no reasoning. We write the version we wanted: honest, specific, and short enough to actually finish.

Our Approach

Every recommendation on this site is informed by published specifications, manufacturer documentation, verified user reviews, and ergonomic research from sources like the Canadian Centre for Occupational Health and Safety, the Mayo Clinic, and ISO 9241 workstation standards.

When we don’t have firsthand experience with a product, we say so. When a product is widely recommended but has a known drawback, we flag it. When there’s a cheaper option that does 90% of what a flagship does, we tell you.

We don’t publish fake “tested” claims about products we haven’t used, and we don’t accept payment for positive coverage.

Who We Serve

Remote workers, hybrid workers, students, gamers, creators, and anyone who spends more than a few hours a day at a desk and suspects their setup is part of the reason their back hurts.

Most of our recommendations work for typical home offices. When gear is specifically better for a certain use case (tall users, small spaces, dual-monitor setups, standing desks), we call that out.

How We Make Money

The Desk Brief uses affiliate links. When you buy a product through a link on this site, we may earn a small commission at no additional cost to you. This is how the site stays running.

Affiliate income does not change our recommendations. We link to the best product for the job, not the one with the highest commission rate. When a better option exists that we don’t earn from, we still recommend it.

See our full Affiliate Disclosure for details.
