How this bass test works
Lower volume first. Begin near 80 Hz with a sine wave, then move gradually downward or upward. Listen for abrupt dropouts, rattles, port noise, or strong changes caused by the speaker and room.
How to read the results
Small speakers commonly roll off before deep bass. Strong peaks and nulls can come from room dimensions, listening position, desk reflections, and crossovers. Browser output is not calibrated, so use this as a functional comparison.
Common causes of failed tests
Weak bass can involve output capability, a high-pass filter, crossover settings, phase cancellation, placement, Bluetooth processing, damaged drivers, or a room null. Rattling may come from the desk or nearby objects rather than the speaker.
Troubleshooting before you replace hardware
Reduce volume, move loose objects, compare headphones, check crossover and polarity, and shift the listening position. Never increase level aggressively at very low frequencies because a driver can be stressed without sounding loud.
