How to Use This Template

  1. Fill in the meal plan strip first, one meal per day is enough. Shopping without a plan leads to buying ingredients you already have or missing what you need.
  2. Work through the store sections in the order you walk your store. Reorder the sections in the blank lines if your store layout differs.
  3. Note the price as you add each item if you are budget-tracking. Compare estimated vs actual total at the bottom to improve your estimates over time.
  4. Keep last week’s list nearby while you plan this week, it is the fastest way to spot what you ran out of.

Does the order of sections match my store?

Sections are in a common layout (produce first, then dairy, meat, and centre aisles). Rewrite them in your store’s order in the blank lines provided.

How does the budget tracker work?

Jot the estimated price next to each item as you write the list. The budget tracker at the bottom has two fields, Estimated Total and Actual Total. Compare them after shopping to calibrate your estimates over time.

Can I use this for a meal prep routine?

Yes. The meal plan strip pairs naturally with batch cooking. Plan your meals Sunday, build the list around them, shop Monday.
